DroneFTP works with most modern drones capable of capturing high-quality aerial imagery or LiDAR data and flying consistent grid missions. DJI Mini, Air, Mavic, Phantom, and Matrice series drones are all commonly used. The most important factor is how the data is collected—not the specific drone model.
A structured grid (lawnmower) flight pattern is recommended, flown at a consistent altitude with sufficient image overlap for photogrammetry or adequate line spacing for LiDAR to ensure accurate and reliable results.
For best results, we recommend:
Higher overlap improves accuracy, especially in areas with trees, buildings, or uneven terrain.
Yes. For mapping products like orthomosaics, elevation models, and contours, photos should be captured nadir (straight down). Oblique images are optional for 3D visualization but are not required for standard deliverables.
No. DroneFTP can process standard GPS-tagged photos without RTK or GCPs.
Deliverables currently include:
Yes. DroneFTP is designed specifically for drone pilots who want to offer professional mapping products without needing specialized software or technical training.
DroneFTP transforms raw aerial imagery and LiDAR data into professional-grade mapping deliverables. This enables users to:
Yes. Deliverables are provided in industry-standard formats that engineers, surveyors, planners, and consultants can use immediately. Elevation products are delivered with the application of a geoid model.
